THIS IS FUCKING TRAGIC
I'll never understand why talented artists and writers waste their time doing clock animations. The story was awesome, although I'd like to have seen a full story before this situation. Also, the nirvana reference was kind of hokey, but I guess it worked. I loved the ending, when he just says "yeah." and murders and monster.
This would be a 10/10 5/5 if you used real characters, but unfortunately it's more clock bullshit, so you get 7/10 and 0/5.
Here's my question: Why does it make a difference? What is a real character? Normal looking people? What if I had made up a character that acted like a person, but didn't look like one, like the comic character Bone. Would that have been equally bad? I don't know, man, I think it's a bit twisted.
Boring.
This was seriously some of the worst middle-school humor of all time. Get a writer.
What? No, no way.
Sorry, but this is a sign saying "LOOK AT ME BE REALLY ARTSY"
Seriously, you're trying WAY TOO HARD. Focus on being entertaining and maybe writing a script, not just on being different.
Can't deny I like things arty, but I wasn't going for pretentious, i hate stuff like that. It was definitely overthought (now that i think about it...), so my next one i'll try not to try so hard. God, the irony.
Cheese!
Good. Before I say anything else. I'll say it was good.
But christ was the writing cheesy. The story line itself was workable, but poorly executed. I suggest you get together with a writer to do your scripts in the future. I felt the characters were completely two dimensional. Ketta was always just the little mysterious emo pretty boy, and Rain was a hysterical wreck and a hopeless romantic. It was just another stereotypical emo love story. The little girl turning evil was a decent addition, but the evil overlord was so evil he was boring, he lacked any cleverness to his mannerisms.
You're a great artist and animator, but collaberate with a writer to get the full potential out of your movies. I actually have a ton of writing samples if you'd like to see any, and I'm always willing to work on joint efforts.
Cheers, and let me know.
It was some stinky cheese at times T_T
Blahh I agree- I need a good writer!
Unimpressed
Another submission that was good but not great. Animation was choppy, the art style was inconsistent, and the musical changes were irritating. The slow, childlike track was appropriate, but the whole epic-fantasy-metal track seemed gaudy and unwarranted. Sound effects would have suited the scary parts much better. Character design seemed lazy, especially in the case of the nightmare. You're mixing two forms of archetype with that monster; The unknown entity and the huge snarling beast, it was trite. The scenes changed too quickly with absolutely no transition between the music. The graveyard scene seemed thrown in. Finally, the message at the end was just plain stupid.
I think you're talented, but I do hope to see better work from you in the future.
if it seemed choppy it shouldn't, Try watching it in a lower quality and it would be smoother, everything would be more fluid. Thanks for the review
im with viruz0222
yeah, this was lame. I hated DBZ, and this is the same thing without a plot. This wasn't even a full chapter I don't think, just a really confusing trailer.
extra point for coheed.
see below. coheed is awesome, I agree. wtf? this isn't a book.
ugh, emo
Artwork was sub-par, story had little to no substance, and the soundtrack was the album leaf? I don't care how many violins and cellos you throw over it, a bad animation is a bad animation. Four for effort, and that you at least know how to tug on people's heartstrings to make up for your lack of creativity and skill.
you want sad? try the composer, or any of the other amazing serious shorts on the site. this was drivel.
Yay I rule I gotta smoke.
